SilkPeel Your Way to Silky Skin

silk peel grand rapids michiganMicrodermabrasion is one of the top five non-surgical procedures when it comes to year-end statistics for the aesthetic industry. But the procedure can be messy with crystals or other irritating particles doing the exfoliating. At Elite, we use the new SilkPeel Dermalinfusion system to not only eliminate the mess, but also to deliver topical solutions into your skin at the same time. We think it’s a superior combination of procedures for your skin.

At Elite, we use the SilkPeel on a wide range of skin imperfections: sun damage, acne, acne scarring, uneven granular skin, fine lines, wrinkles, aging skin, enlarged pores, blackheads, scars, and stretch marks.

How SilkPeel works

SilkPeel has the same goal as typical microdermabrasion — removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the treatment area. They differ in how they do that. With SilkPeel, a diamond tip head has gentle vacuum action and it evenly abrades the skin at a depth of 30 microns. This removes the top layer called the stratum corneum. Different tips have different characteristics to address different skin issues.

At the same time it is removing the top layer, the tip also delivers an infusion of topical solutions. The different available solutions vary in the vitamins or other ingredients included depending on what is being treated. At Elite we offer four infusions: Lumixyl for dark spots and uneven skin tone, salicylic acid for acne, hyaluronic acid for fine lines and dry skin, vitamin C for sun and stress-damaged skin.

Where can SilkPeel be used?

Most patients opt to have SilkPeels done on the face, but SilkPeel treatments are equally effective on the neck and chest. No matter where you have your SilkPeel, there is no downtime with the procedure.

What is a SilkPeel like?

We first begin with a deep cleansing of your skin. Next we apply a clarifying mask to pull out any impurities and unclog your pores. Now you’re ready for your SilkPeel, which alone takes around 15 minutes. A full SilkPeel treatment takes about one hour.
