Breast Augmentation

Many women who are unhappy with the appearance of their breasts turn to plastic surgery for a solution. At Elite Plastic Surgery we specialize in performing breast enlargement with implants. We can help you achieve the breasts you’ve always desired!

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast Augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure that increases the size of the breast through the use of a breast implant.

We perform breast enlargement for several types of patients: those who have lost breast size due to having children, those who have lost a significant amount of weight. those who simply want to have larger breasts.

Who is a Candidate For Breast Enhancement?

If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your breasts, augmentation surgery is a choice to consider. Breast enlargement can increase the fullness and projection of your breasts, improve the balance and proportions of your figure, and improve your self-image and self-confidence.

Breast Augmentation Procedure

The breast augmentation surgery is outpatient, which means the patient goes home the same day. Typical surgery can range from 1 ½ – 2 hours for breast enlargement alone, but can be longer if other procedures are performed at the same time.

Types Of Breast Implants: Silicone Implants vs Saline Implants

Breast implants can be filled with either silicone or saline (saltwater) depending on patient preference. One of our board-certified plastic surgeons will help guide you through the decision-making process and help you determine which implant is right for you.

Implant brands include Mentor™ silicone and saline. Mentor products include high profile, moderate profile, moderate plus profile, and mentor memory shape. Mentor implants are the only implant made in the USA. We also offer Allergan™ breast implants.

Can Breast Enhancement Perform With Other Procedures?

Breast Augmentation alone does not correct severely drooping breasts. If you want your breasts to look fuller and to be lifted due to sagging, a breast lift may be necessary in combination with breast augmentation. Breast lifting can often be done at the same time as your augmentation.

Can I Have a Mammogram with Breast Implants?

Patients can still have mammograms with breast implants. It is important to let the person performing your mammogram know that you have breast implants so that they can take special views to help see all of the breast tissue.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

Recovery varies by the type of procedure and patient factors. Many patients are able to return to work a week after surgery and can perform regular activities at 4 weeks. Your surgeon will be better able to discuss individual recovery length during your consultation.

Risks Of Breast Augmentation

In addition to the risks associated with surgery and anesthesia, those related to breast augmentation using implants include the following:

  • Asymmetry
  • Capsular contracture
  • Implant leaks and ruptures
  • Implant deflation or shifting
  • Irregularities in breast contour/shape
  • Temporary or permanent change in nipple/breast sensation
