Everyone has heard of chemical peels. They come in various degrees of strength, based on the peeling agent. At Elite, we offer a specific formula called the Vi Peel from the Vitality Institute. It’s a gentle, yet powerful medical-grade chemical peel.
What is the Vi Peel?
The Vi Peel is a blend of trichloroacetic acid, tretinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, vitamin C, and other minerals. They work together to safely remove the damaged layers of the skin, promote cellular turnover, and refine the surface layer for smoother, clearer, firmer skin that looks refreshed and more radiant.
Where is the Vi Peel done?
Unlike some chemical peels, the Vi Peel is safe and effective for all skin types and tones. It can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, back, and the legs. It is one of the few peels that is safe even for the under-eye area.
What does a Vi Peel feel like?
The Vi Peel is relatively painless. There is mild to moderate burning or tingling sensation, but it is tolerable and doesn’t require topical anesthesia.
How is the Vi Peel done?
During a Vi Peel, we first clean your skin to remove oils and makeup residue. Then we apply the solution in two phases. The first phase penetrates the skin cells on the skin’s surface. The second phase penetrates deeper, down into the skin’s second layer, the dermis. The solution dries quickly and you can go back to daily activities, but you leave it on for five hours before washing it off. The application process takes just 20 to 30 minutes.
Results
Your results aren’t immediate. It takes from two to three days for your skin to begin peeling. This will continue for up to six days. It commonly looks as if you have a slight sunburn that is flaking off. We provide special peeling wipes with Retin-A and other minerals that further stimulate peeling.
Once your skin finishes peeling, it still takes another month or so for your full results to show. Your skin will be firmer, smoother, clearer, and it will look more radiant.
