Ronald D. Ford, M.D., F.A.C.S.

 

 

 

Dr. Ford graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed an internship and General Surgery residency at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center. He also completed a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center, a division of Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. Dr. Ford received additional training by performing a fellowship in Hand Surgery. His special interests include breast surgery, cancer reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, burn reconstruction and hand surgery. Dr. Ford is the Assistant Program Director of The Plastic Surgery Residency Program of the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center, a division of Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. He will assume the role of program director in July, 2009. He has received multiple awards for teaching excellence in his many years of training plastic surgery residents. He is also an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine in the Department of Surgery, and he is currently chief of surgery at Saint Mary's Mercy Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Ford is certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Ohter professional memberships include; American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Association of Academic Chairmen of Plastic Surgery, Kent County Medical Society, Michigan Academy of Plastic Surgeons, Michigan State Medical Society, American Burn Association, and Botox Cosmetic Physicain Network.
